The EVO is more of a private party type car anyways. I know for a fact you can't buy an EVO of any year that is clean and low miles for less than 24k. Even an 03. So I would say that in reality in the private party market they are holding REAL well. I know this because I just went through the buying process and either the car was modded and back to stock... modded... high miles... or in bad shape if it was under 24k. Of course trade in values are low.... they always are.. on any car. I would also think the IX's will become very desirable in the future being only one model year. W'ell see though... I ended up buying a IX RS and while I don't ever plan to sell it, it feels good to know if I had to that it would be worth quite a bit nomatter how many years go by.

I don't know why a lot of you guys think that our cars are holding their value. Like I said, call a Mits. dealer and ask what the car is worth. I know my 06 IX with 7k miles on it has an "actual cash value" of $22,500. Am I disappointed in that, yeah. But I don't care. I bought the EVO for what it can do.

If you order from them via this (and I'm assuming) other forums, you get a fantastic deal. I got my MR from them during their March Madness sale, and $31,999 is an unbelievable price for a brand-new MR.
That said, I did notice that when I received the car, and looked at the window sticker , as well as the "additional dealer fees" sticker, SC had a dealer mark-up of $2,999!
So, if I walked in off the street, not knowing any better, they would have tried to sell me the same Evo for $39,923 (sticker plus mark-up), close to $8000 more than what I actually paid for it!

Yep, I got mine from Mark there too, and the got both those stickers. You do have to wonder if anyone really walks in off the street and pays 40K for an MR. My guess is most people know enough to ask for the "internet" price. Or maybe they dicker a deal somewhere south of MSRP that's pretty good. Somebody out there should drop in and test the theory - see what kind of price the floor salesman actually pitches out...

I work at a dealership, and it does happen (paying full sticker). Very rarely, mind you, but it does. I work at a Chevy/Subaru dealership though, so most of the vehicles we sell also have some sort of incentive to go along with them though, whether it be rebates or special financing. In the two years I've been there, I can't say as I've seen anything sell for over sticker though, not even the Corvettes.
Of course, other than Z06, I can't see as how we'd have anything that we could possibly justify asking over sticker for!
