Every tuner I've spoken with here in SoCal told me its a waste of money unless you're running a bigger turbo or a stroker motor.

Here's my opinion, search. There was a thread discussing TT's within the past couple of days floating around here. It shouldn't be too hard to find.

I had one on my old eclipse, but I didnt get one for the evo as I have a remote start/alarm...so it would be pointless to have a turbo timer. It is always good to let the oil in the turbo cool down before you shut it off right after a hot run...

It sure wont hurt anything to have one..its just a lazyness thing. I can remote start my car and walk away and it will shut off after a dedicated amount of time.....im lazy

Its just a small convenience mod more than anything. I have one and I love it. Its funny to how it messes with people too. you just got to jusify the 100 bux.

BTW, If you drive out of boost before you park and/or wait in the car for a minute, your fine. Just dont go WOT for 5 gears and than fly right into your spot and shut the engine off.

I have a TT in my alarm. I will let it work if I have been driving hard, but most of the time, I just shut it off as soon as I get out.

If you're car is a daily driver and you run it hard once in a while you don't really need it. Just let it cool down whenever you do. If you beat on alot then you might want to invest 100bux just to be safe.

I have one. Somewhat rare unit from Pivot. Useless, but I can turn my car off and close my windows and sunroof. Not a big deal. Like I said, mostly useless.

the purpose for the turbo timer is to let the turbo cool down, not the engine or anyother component, but since stock turbo's are water cooled, they dont really need to be let cooled down, if running a bigger turbo, then yeah, a turbo timer is recomended...
