Help me figure out what noise I hear

There is a high pitched sound coming from under the rear of the car. its there all the time and does really change tone or volume with speed. its sounds like somebody using a vacume or haridryer very far away. its a high pitched faint sound and i noticed it when i was driving around without the rear seat cushions, maybe its a normal sound and is just amplified because there is no cushion? if i put my ear by each rear tire i can hear the noise. i crawl under the rear of the car i hear the noise. i can hear it faintly in the cabin. i put my ear by the front tires, i cant hear it as well. is this sound normal? what is it? if not, i will be making a trip to the dealership.

my car is completely stock, only ~6,000 miles on it and 05 model.

i did search and found some transfer case stuff, but i dont think that is what this is as the TC is at the front of the car.

thanks in advance

Sounds like it could be your fuel pump. Did you buy the car new? Walbro FP tend to whine a bit.

Is your car stock?
It might just be the sound of your exhaust or maybe a exhaust leak?

I vote fuel pump, especially if it's a Walbro.

first of all, you guys rock!

i searched through the tech forum and found how to access the fuel pump. i took off the cover and the sound is definitely coming from the fuel pump. is a slight whine normal? i took out my seat cushion so the sound isnt muffled anymore and i noticed the sound shortly after i removed the cushion. its a stock fuel pump.
