Restore Engine Restorer

I decided to put the Engine Restore to the test. With almost 50,000 mi. on my Evo, I decided to do a compression test and here is what I got.

Cylinder 1- 163 Psi
2- 155 Psi
3- 154 Psi
4- 154 Psi

I was not too happy about the results. I added this Engine Restore in with my oil change, drove 150 mi. and did another compression test and here is what I got.

1- 185 Psi
2- 185 Psi
3- 187 Psi
4- 185 Psi

Much better compression, honestly I was very impressed with this product and I think everyone with a higher mileage Evo should try it out.

Man I'm impressed! I'll have to give this a shot in my beater. How long does it last?

I says to use it with every oil change, but that seems like overkill to me. Maybe every 10,000-15,000 mi should do it.

I'm real curious how long it has an effect. Did you notice any change in how it runs?

Didn't notice any change in how it runs, but the fact that the stuff works is all I care about.

Both tests were done with a full hot engine?

With an increase in compression like that I would think you might need a retune

This stuff has been out for years. I was using it in the late 80's and it does work.
I use it currently in my 93 B2600 that my dad gave me. I haven't checked my compression, but I do add it with every oil change.

In my opinion, if you don't like your compression: rebuild your engine. Under extreme load I doubt this stuff makes any difference at all (i.e. the dyno).

Restore is definitely one of those products in a can that does do something.
Years ago I had this old honda that was a smoke machine! I used to put 8 cyl. restore in it (larger size) and it would stop smoking completely for about 3 days. Worked well enough to sell it.
Oh and it was the oil rings and no valve seals that were causing the smoking.

doesn't it just thicken the oil some causing it to not leak past rings, valve guides, seals, etc.? could you maybe just try a thicker oil and get the same results?

So you're telling me there is a liquid that you add to your engine that not only acts like metal rings and fills in where they've worn, but is smart and knows only to act like metal in the compression chamber?
