Anyone get damage with DAS ?
My car is supposed to be here tomorrow from SC, and after reading all the bad reviews on DAS from Epinions I'm starting to stress out. Has anyone here had a bad experience with DAS?

I don't want to get you worried but my car was damaged when I received it from DAS. The car was a week late too. The car has a dent that took the paint down to the metal on the hood. Looks like when they drove the car onto the car carrier they drove it right into a metal support. I also have a scratch on the clearcoat on the trunk. Trunk needs to be repainted. And I have scratches around the drivers side door handle and roof. Those should be able to be buffed out. I bought my car from South Coast Mitsubishi with 6 miles on it. DAS won't cover more than $250 worth of damage with a $100 deductible. So basically they are giving me $150 to fix a hood, trunk and some scratches. They told me to have my insurance to cover the rest. I know they did the damage to the car because the car was new and was inspected with no damages before being put onto the car carrier. DAS SUCKS. I hope you don't have the same experience. Plus I paid to have the car expedited and they haven't even refunded me that money yet. I took delivery of the car on June 18th. DAS SUCKS

Here is a rundown of how my shipping went. Scheduled pickup July, 8th.
June 23, Friday =
June 23, Friday =
SC Mitsu gets my check and says they will take my car to DAS on Monday at the latest.
June 27, Tuesday = DAS gets my car around 2 pm.
June 30, Friday = My car leaves the first terminal.
June 30,Friday - July 3,Monday = My car is making great progress and arrives at Mesquite,Texas which is 5 hours away.
July 3,Monday - July 8, Saturday = My car was sitting in Mesquite,TX.
Juy 8, Saturday =I call Customer Service around 10am and they say my car has left and is on its way. They verify my phone number and say I will be notified when it reaches the destination. Around 3pm I have yet to receive a phone call. I decide to drive by the "DAS Terminal" at TNT Wrecking Service just in case it is there(online tracking still says Mesquite).
Hallelujah!!! I see the beautiful wing from a mile away! I pull in and a guy approaches me. I tell him I am here to pick up my car. He tells me that he is shutting down and a DAS representative to release the car will not be here until MONDAY at 9am. I go inspect the car for scratches, and it was still in pristine condition. I then drive away silently sobbing.
Overall it was a stressful experience, especially after reading all the Epinions.com reviews. Fortunately, everything looked OK and on Monday if it is still mint, I will be very happy.

Damn, you guys are really starting to scare me about shipping a vehicle!! I am looking into several different shipping companies and DAS doesnt have very good reviews, but the whole idea is starting to worry me! Most if not all of the shippers I have looked at say they carry $750,000 worth of insurance, and some with 0 deductable. I guess I will do some more investigation.....

I read the bad reviews on DAS and 'MANY' others - but Mark at South Coast convinced me that they recommend this company(maybe they have a deal with them - i dont know). I have never had a car shipped. My car had 33 miles when Mark drove it to the terminal in Costa Mesa - and when I received it - it had 33 miles. I got the car one day early. I called the receiving company who told me to come the next day so they can clean the car...I was there thirteen minutes after that call ended.
I was told by DAS that the car will be completely covered if anything happens...
sounds like you are being scammed.

i paid he extra insurance, but still I had a scratch on the sideskirt. What the heck, Ive waited for a long time to get my car. I dont want any hassles or paperworks just for that scratch. Im just sayng that they are not careful when it come to loading and unloading of the cars
