IX MR RNR TBE thowing engine code?

Ok heres the deal, the RNR TBE /w HKS TI was SUPPOSED to come with a 1'' spacer for the downpipe, mine didnt(as some others also know) my mechanic installed what i gave him, i personaly didnt know it came /w a spacer. I was driving for about 2 weeks(MAX) and the DP started rattle REALLY BAD aginst what sounded like another piece of metal. Took it back to my mechanic and the struts under the car have awesome clearance, BUT he said it has to be the OIL pan. Almost only a few days later the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light poped on, the rattle is now VERY BAD in the morning and is progressivly getting worse. I took it to mitsubishi today and they said the lights means there is somthing wrong with the ENGINE, im worried that the CODE is NOT because of the exhaust... should i be worried?

Thanks for the help, Travis

Only way to know is if you pull the code as it can be a bunch of stuff. Go to a autozone or discount auto parts and have them pull the code.

ok went to aap and they ran the test and it came up as cat efficiency below threshold. So it seems just to be the non-existant cat, i was under some impression that the exhaust WOUDLENT throw a code, because of the 02sensors being re-installed..

Thanks for the help, Travis

It will definitely throw a code. We have some fixes we can sell you or do the DIY thing from Autozone.

well, the guy at autozone, just turned it off the the machine he used to read the code. He said it would only be a temp fix, but he did the whole thing for free, so im happy ^^.

Yeah, he just temporarily turned it off. It's only a matter of time before it comes back, but I'd recommend doing a search on the boards for o2 cel fix and you'll see how people are bypassing the cel.

Lucky peeps. I've been on a CEL for what seems like a lifetime. I did purchase an o2 sim so we'll see if this gets the job done.

It should work just fine. I had a cel on my srt for my dowpipe and as soon as I got the 02 simulator the code never came back.

i have had an RNR 3" O2 housing, downpipe, hi-flow cat, cat back with magnaflow and never threw a CEL until this week and I have had it for a year and a half. the car is even stumbling a little. i went to autozone and got cat ineffeciency code. i am going to pull it and see what it looks like. mine might be cooked for the occasional launch limiter.
