You will need to take the underpanel off. If you can fit under your car without jacking it up then you should be fine

if its not a T-bolt, tightening it too much will cause the clasp to come loose and ruin the clamp

They even lost the clamp cuz it was at night. and they had too drive it back home that was 10 miles away, soo they had too goo prettty darn slow... and it stiill came off LOL. So everyone should get them T-Bolt Clamps and call it a day!!

I replaced all the clamps with t-bolts per canjun powers' DIY diagram. When I went to the dealer recently, he said "thank God they finally replaced those crappy clamps with something decent"

AHHH! Do a search!
I'll break it down for all the noobs,

You will need clamps to fit the following
Size # Clamps
1.5" 3
2.0" 2
2.5" 7
3" 1

I would suggest getting Tbolts that have a RANGE, ie, don't get a clamp that fits exactly 2.0 inches, ideally it'll be from 1.75-2.25 inches.

I ordered the constant breeze clamps, though pricey, from amazon.com since I find the patented spring thermal expansion "technology" worth the extra $$$ and I won't have to retorque those clamps ever again. . .

(PS, for the noobs, please check the How-To section, Cajun has an awesome diagram of the location of all of these clamps). . .

Suneil

happened to me in my IX on the NÜRBURGRING NORDSCHLEIFE of all places!

At km 4 of 21, so you can imagine how fun it is to drive without boost the rest of the way till you reach some tools to fix it...

Must be why they call it the "Grüne Hölle" (green hell)... :P

Bad thing was I had tightened this clamp before because I had heard of the probs...so just a heads up to all you IX owners.
This happened to me a few weeks ago and I didn't have my tool box with me. Roadside was there in about 45 minutes and flatbedded me back to my place and I had a new clamp on a in a few minutes.
