Regardless of the ifs, ands, or buts.

It makes me feel good anyways.

Either way IMO ... Most German cars are way overpriced for what they are.
And then there's the cost of ownership in some cases.

Heck, you can buy an MR, get a highend stereo system, GPS, custom leather
interior, slight mods, a little show and shine and still come out thousands of dollars ahead and have a better car.

Just my 2 cents.

That is one sexy interior. I would love to have a wagon version.

We don't get that steering wheel or those seats on the US version of the RS4.

It's a great car but it's not worth $70k, it's just not. That's 997 territory or clean used 996TT territory. And it's not that far off of the M5 either. The RS4 is supposed to compete with the M3 and C55 and it comes in waaaay too high in price.

if the rs4 should be around 55k then what should the s4 be around? and then the a4? I mean if the rs4 is 55 k does that make the s4 40k and the a4 25k? I mean base price of 66k with only one major option (premium package for 4700 dollars) brings the price to about 71 and change after destination charge. Seeing how many connecticut dealerships charge near 40k for a 3.0 a4 fully loaded I think 71k for an s4 on steroids or an a4 on steroids and crack is not too bad. Its to be expected. I mean the day I bought my evo I walked into a dealership with 40 grand cash to buy a used s4 and the audi snobs didnt even approach me for 20 minutes until I grabbed the salesperson. Needless to say later that day mitsubishi got some quick business from me

^ yeah and anyways, does it come with a hemi??? I don't think so.

It is at least a beautiful and rare car to catch a glimpse of it on the open road.

Honestly, if I had $80K to spend on a car I'd still probably end up at a dealership, signing papers on a new Evo. There is, in my opinion, nothing like it.

+1

Buy the Audi if you want that plushness tickling your nuts and have no desire to drive it hard and mod it. I wonder how much that car weighs..... has to be considerably higher than the Evo Im sure.

The Evo is by no stretch the be all end all. But for performance enthusiats, its purpose built, light, and designed to be raped on or off road....... and reasonably priced for what you get.

The RS4 is cool, but for another $11K I'd get an M5. The 500 HP V10 alone is worth the extra $.

Most men in their 40's or 50's are not going to drive around in a car that is primarily owned by 20 somethings or spoiled college kids. That's why the MR is really not an alternative to this. Entirely different market.

As an exception to that statement, I'd have to agree. That said, most men in their 40s and 50s (or otherwise) aren't driving enthusiasts, even though that's what they may like to believe. Out of 10 or so Evos in my area, 3 are owned by men my age and the bulk of the others were purchased used by younger folks. As one could guess, the Evos owned by guys my age are stock and the others are decorated in some way.

FWIW, if I had that kind of money to spend on a single car, I would have given the RS4 very serious consideration.
