One year 28K with my EVO & .... my New M Coupe!
Well it's been almost a year since I made one of the smartest car-buying decisions in my car-buying career The EVO has been my daily driver and i've managed to rack up more than 28,000 miles since 8/4/05!!
And a few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to add a new toy to the garage. I got the new M coupe. There's a link to my "review" and pics below.
One thing I have to say, and I've said it before: The more cars I drive, the more I KNOW that the EVO is without a doubt, the best car for the money, ever. In fact, it just has to be one of the best cars in the world, period. Auto journalists talk about Porsche steering being "telepathic" -- the EVO's is even more so. If any car feels like a go cart (besides the Elise) -- it's the EVO. There is just nothing about this car that's wrong. I hope doesn't screw that up with the EVO X. I am so happy with my VIII that I see putting over 100K miles on it. For someone who buys new cars nearly every year -- that's a big deal!!
I've had zero issues with my EVO in 1 yr/28K. I've had it on the track a few times as well and it made me literally laugh out loud it was so easy to throttle out of corners. It's insane... and mine is still stock!!
So, on to the M coupe. BMW did a great job with this car.. and the steering comes remarkably close to the EVO's, but it's still not there! Also the brakes and clutch don't have as natural a feel as the EVO. The BMW is awesome as a sport/cruiser and has all the toys. It feels edgy and it will take skill to drive fast. I like having both because they are both cars for the enthusiast... and their styling is polarizing... fortunately -- I LOVE the way both the EVO and the M coupe look. EVO for the daily battles... M Coupe for long trips, some daily driving and special occasions. Both rock and are a joy to drive!
Just sharing.
