Is the CCC report a comparison of the percentage of each model stolen per model manufactured? Or is it straight forward number of models stolen? They don't really make that clear..

Integra stolen for the engine. Quick swap and a civic becomes a little less boring!

Wow, the top spot being the 2001 M Roadster immediately makes me think of the good ol' quote "lies, damn lies and statistics"

Okay, so let's see... they built what? A total of 1600 S54 M Roadsters for the whole production run - so 2001 and 2002. So let's be generous and say 1200 in 2001 and they're all registered...

"The CCC report found that slightly more than one out of every two hundred registered 2001 M Roadsters were stolen last year"

So... those assumptions would make a whopping 6 cars reported stolen with details we don't know to make the top spot? Ehm, impressive.

Legit

Well, if you're insured, hopefully it's no big deal, besides it would set you up for the EVO X.

There'll be a dry spell for Evos next 18 months or so as production stops for X Wonder how that'll affect theft?

Good call on the analysis. I always take reports and statistics with a grain of salt anyway, because it's so easy to word things in a way to make data into anything you want it to be... If you don't believe me, look at "political" analyst books, like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Al Franken, et al... those guys can come up with totally contradicting data at the drop of a hat.

This is also proven by people seeing "theft claims" list and "stolen" list and assuming they're the exact same list, representing the same data... which they're not.

Only 1 in 8 people will read what I just typed...
