The Escalade, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab—the top three on HLDI's list— have theft claim rates four to five times higher than the average for all cars. The Ford F-250/Ford F-350 pickup trucks and the Chrysler Sebring round out the top five.

I'm very suspect of the high theft rate of the evo, True the cars do occasionally get stolen, but there isn't a huge part interchange right now for much of the car...

You are trying to compare lists of two totally different things.
The link from MSN above is a ranking of the most stolen cars by number stolen per vehicles insured. It is also specific by model year.
The previous list (that included the Evo) was a ranking by HLDI of gross theft claims in dollars paid per model insured. The car need not even have been nescessarily stolen to make that list. (A theft claim could have been paid by the insurer if a window was smashed and the stereo stolen, for example.) That HLDI list also looked at multiple model years, 2003-2005.
Apples and oranges.

^^ True. And I just saw a few weeks ago on CNN or something the list that had the Escalade and EVO in the top 2 and it wasnt that long ago to generate a whole new study and data. But like you said, apples and oranges so that in itself explains the different lists.
