Uhh ...

the oil pump? The oil cooler passages are held shut to circulate the engine oil through the motor to help heat the motor up during cold starts and then opened up when temps reach around 60degrees celcius..Every Evo8/9 has this feature. I dont know what youre talking about in regards to an oil pump.

Note that you COULD use ECUFLASH to update the ECU to a "newer" Evo9's ECU, as long as someone posts up the new 9's ECU file.

However, i'd be more interested in knowing the differences. If a "older" Evo9's ECU was also uploaded we could do a diff to see what the differences are and what has been updated/changed.

Note it might not mean it is faster... they COULD have made things "safer" and retarded things somewhat, meaning slower times...

The newer evo 9 that I've seen have less whp in stock form. When I got my 9 almost every one was hitting between 265-275 whp on dynojet, 2 guys in my area that just bought their dynoed:

1st evo ix mr stock
1st run 248whp 239wtq
2nd run 237whp 235wtq

2nd evo ix mr with hks intake
1st run 260whp 254wtq
2nd run 249whp 244wtq

Don't think the intake make power on the 9s this car was dynoed with the hood open. I'm not sure if you guys seen my post before we dynoed an evo with intake and by the time we close the hood and run it again, the stock airbox made more power.

And I have not seen/heard any new 9 stock that run high 12s, all the new 9s that I seen/heard are running mid 13s.

to answer ur guys' question. yes there are differences btw older and newer IX ECU's. it seems like the older ECU may be slightly better. but a simple flash fixes everything.
