WD-40 in BOV
While taking off the heat shields from the exhaust manifold, i accidentally sprayed WD-40 in my BOV (Turbosmart Dual Vent). Didn't really pay any attention to it, until i run the car. I swear that the whooshing sound was amplified more than 50%. My question is if it is bad for the turbo or engine itself that some WD-40 residue got inside the BOV or would it just burn off from the extreme heat? So far i have not noticed any difference how my car runs except for a very loud whooshing sound that comes from the BOV.

Any time you spray anything into the intake tract (i.e. carburetor cleaner, etc.) you should let it evaporate before turning on the engine. You don't want any type of fluid being sucked into the engine, especially highly flammable fluids. If it was just a little wd-40 I don't think it will matter much, just try to avoid this next time.

I did get to spray only a small amount to it and i didn't start the car until the following day so hopefully it would be all right. Thanks for the headsup.

i used to always clean the throttle bodies on my other cars with carb. cleaner and turn the car on so it can suck in through the intake manifold to clean better and i never had any problems.
