Evo IX question about clutch restrictor

I'm wondering if the Evo IX has the same clutch restrictor that is in the Evo VIII. I took mine off my old VIII & want to take the one out of the IX but before I do this I need to make sure that there is one in there. Has anyone done this just to confirm that there is one in there? Thanks.

I looked in to doing that with my 9 and did find the instructions for the 8 but the wiring is different. I was told it has to be tuned out.

BlueFish,

This is not what you think. This is the clutch restrictor inside the clutch slave cylinder. As for what you are talking about that is the 5k rev limiter, yes I have disconnected mine already by just un-plugging the connector to the sensor.

Wow to the above replies...

The clutch restrictor is still there on the IX. I removed mine this weekend. Very easy once you take off the MAF and filter housing. I was going to replace the rubber line to the master also but decided against it after seeing how wedged and hidden the top bolt is.

Thanks DrSmile for the info. Yes it is very easy to remove. I did this on my Evo VIII but did not want to go throught the process if it is not even there. Thanks again.
