Um....so you only see boost when you press the throttle? Do we know how a turbo works? Boost is only present when the turbo is spooled, which only happens under throttle. At Idle you should be at 0 boost.
Or do you mean boost only is registering when you take a sharp jab at the throttle? In that case a hose leak or loose fitting might be your problem.

How much is it reading at WOT when it stops increasing? Turbo's have lag, it's not instant boost. It's dependent on exhaust gases, not engine RPM like superchargers so the less throttle you give the lower the boost will be. Depending on what gauge you have, it should read vacuum at idle and it will be very low boost if any while you're cruising.

i know all about turbos so stop acting like im an idiot no offense it only reads boost when it is floored and only then, and my gauge does not have vacuum its a crappy sw. and its 21psi
