I have also used that hard white plastic on another car. It can be done but you have to find the right fitting, which can also be purchased at autozone. The soft line is the easier way to go. Threading that hard white line is a pain in the ***.
yeah i plan on going to autozone tomorrow to get the vacuum line

I have a stewart warner and I just went to Ace Hardware and picked up a brass nipple fitting to screw directly onto the back of the gauge. Then I went to autozone and bought standard vacuum line and a plastic t-fitting. Good to go from there!

you guys, just a hint, before you go to pay for vaccuum line, ask if they have a scrap hose piece bin you can look through. I got more line than i know what to do with from them, they usually just ditch old reels if they're runnin low and they order a new one. You might be able to get 6 feet for nuthin. That hard stuff though(also known as macro line) is very tough and the fittings for it rarely leak. They use it for paintball guns and air brake systems on onroad and offroad dump trucks. I wonder if autometers nylon line(thinner, easier to route) would work with a normal barb fitting on the end?
