Anybody worried about keeping your older Evo?

This may have been covered already, but is anybody worried about keeping their older Evo with the X coming out so drastically redesigned? I wonder everyday if I should get a IX while I still can and start out new and fresh again.... and with a longer warranty for whatever it' worth

I just went over 36k on my '03 and if the X is not really a true performance machine like the VIII and IX then I could see the regret in not getting a new one now.... Anybody planning on getting a new one for this reason or thinking about it?

Im not worried about it at all. I bought my '04 VIII and I like it still, but probably wont buy another evo when I can afford to buy my next car, but Ill keep the evo around as well when I do.

I'm mighty happy with my VIII I'll pass on the X. I can't validate selling my VIII for a X..as mentioned in this post already the X lacks the "sportiness" of the VIII and IX.

not me.. I am really happy with my car. If I do get another car it will be the STI for DD and my evo for track. Right now my evo is doing double duty track & DD.

I also do not feel the X will have the power potential of the 8 & 9 and do not care to trade. I intend to continue modding my 8 to at least the 550 hp level so it will curb my appetite for a new M5. Otherwise my 8 is my daily driver and I don't see anything I'd rather be driving. I'll have it for awhile. If my car were to get totaled, I'd consider a 9 over a 8, but would not wait for a X.

I like my '03, no whiz bang technical doo-dads to fail down the road, no ACD lights of doom, no MIVEC solinoids to fail, etc.

Keep it simple, stupid.

You people are insane. When has an Evo actually gotten worse from one generation to the next? We're not talking about a mid 90's DSM. The X will kick all sorts of *** and have better lines, power and handling to match. The US version might even get AYC this time around. Even if it doesn't it will be the same or better in every possible performance category imagineable. Stop being such pessimists. If you're an Evo fan you should be EXCITED about the X...new engine, new tranny, new platform, new interior, new everything!

It's not even out yet. You're talking about a prototype. Have you ever seen Evo VIII prototypes? There were lots of visual concepts that were scrapped before it made it to production. Plus, and let's be honest here, the CT9A has never been accused of having gorgeous lines. Forms follows function. The X should be the same, but most people happen to prefer the lines better.

You never know , it may flop like the new si did when they drastically changed the whole car over (from b- series to k series and that egg ford focus shape). I dont even like the newest new Si's as much as the 99-00's.

i got a great deal on my VIII, if i was to trade the car, i would loose so much money. IMO, not worth it !IF i was to purchase another evo, i would still keep this one
