You shouldn't leave them that way. From the maker, the HID's come pointed way down. That way, even when turned full up, no matter how big the bump, your lights are not going to flash any other driver. This way also, you can't see anything either and I'm talking about driving around town.

So what you need to do is adjust your headlights up. Then, for around town driving use the inside control to adjust them so that the bumper of the car in front of you is illuminated. That way you will rarely flash anyone and you can see a bit more.

On the highway at night and at speed, turn them up another click. This should move the cutoff of the lights to just below the beltline of cars. This is okay for highway driving because highways are smoother. Also, get on the fogs. The more light the better when driving 85 mph at night.

I'd say that was good luck instead. My bro totalled his WRX when some deer came out of nowhere.
