My Evolution needs help

Today i opened my hood and was just listening to her run ....... idle that is, i wanted to make sure there wasn't any strange noise that i might have occurred lately . Lone and be hold i'm hearing something strange . i believe it's from the Valve or somewhere in that area. as the engine is idling i hear the clicking noise that's normal but another sound is emerging .... like a fluttering sound going up and down as the engine is just sitting there. and no , no one is stepping on the throttle this whole time. just a pulse of fluttering back and forth from the valves or somewhere from the top of the motoring..... anyone knows what this is ? or is it just normal. The last thing i had done 2yrs ago was a boost gauge. i can see the line the connected from the fuel rail to get the reading but other than that everything seems normal. any advice or opinions greatly appreciated. Or am i just being paranoid and the sound is normal when you have turbo with a boost gauge .

correction .... the noise isn't a fluttering anymore it's more like a rattling sounds / you only hear it when the hood is open and also the noise is defintly comming from where the injectors are any guesses what it could be rattling sound not a ticking sound i am aware that the ticking is the injectors but the rattling is brand new. i've had my car for about 3 yrs. now and have never hear of this sound before.

If it was a honda Id tell you to get the valves adjusted but the EVO's self adjust. I dont worry about rattles like that I just attribute it to this being a turbo sports cars and its normal.

that is excatly what i was thinking, when that happend to my honda i just got the valves reset and it quited the engine but since this is my first Evolution i was concerned. But i do admit after getting a Flash done to the ECU i know if anything were to happend i don't think any Cel would pop up giving me an engine code , because i was told i lose that information for the ECU once i got the REFLASH.....

No youll still throw cel's with a flashed ECU. I dont think your car has any serious issues but you could always pull the valve cover and have somone check it out.

when you pull the vavle cover off do i have to re-oil anything or will the seal be ok / what i'm getting to is i use to take my valve cover off my Honda Integra and just put it back on like no big deal . i would do this to swap with my friend's ITR red valve cover. i didn't buy a new seal or even oil the valve either just put it back on . Now for the Evolutions is it any diffrent ? seeing it's a turbo engine
