Recaros: worn out leg bolsters and leg bolster fabric?

What is everyone, in particular, 03/04 owners, doing about the super worn out leg bolsters and the worn out fabric? The ones on my seats are really getting worn down now, esp the outer ones on both the driver and passenger seat.

Is this something that can be redone by simply replacing the fabric, or do we have to completely replace the foam in the bolster? And if it does involve replacing the foam, can we get the JDM ones that are a bit tighter fit?

My seats are doing this too but I don't think there's anything that can be done. The driver's side is by far the worst since I'm normally the only one riding in my car. I plan on replacing the seats with some Sparcos when they finally wear all the way through.

I'm curious if anyone else has suggestions on this subject though.

I've gotten flamed for saying this before but I had a set of sheepskins made when I first noticed a little bit of wear.

I have this problem just starting too. Not that I wish it upon anyone, but you could probably pick up a less used seat/part of a seat from someone who has totalled their car.

Anyone with the SSL package notice wear on their bolsters? Or is this primarily an issue with the fabric seats?

You can have them re-done at a local shop. I know of someone who wanted leather, so had their '03 seats re-done in leather.

One thing for sure, if Mitsu will improve, we have to keep reporting these things to the dealershop or customer service. Meaning,... I have the same problem. I swapped out a pair of fresh seats from a wreck. The new bolster are is also wearing. Crud

I have the SSL and my outer upper & lower bolsters are starting to wear, I actually just noticed it this week. I wonder if there is something that can be put on the leather to condition it??

So is this an issue w/ aftermarket seats as well? Or is this specific to our OEM Recaros? Maybe I'll just pick up aftermarket seats instead...?

All seats with fairly large side/thigh bolsters. Just something you deal with to have the grippy seat. Leather will wear slower than fabric, but nothing's perfect.
