Evo Mag says:
...Back at our makeshift paddock area we check the results: 0-30mph in a startling 1.4sec, 0-60mph in 4.0sec; 0-100mph in 8.7sec;....

Are they really sure?!...

Has anyone tried launching like this? Does it work?

The secret is to hold the car against the handbrake, clutch biting, engine boosting, any slack on the drivetrain taken up, before simply releasing the handbrake and punching away from the line. It’s a bit disconcerting at first, but surprisingly kind to the car.

Um, you have seen pro drag racing, right. Basically, it's borderline burnout on the line.

Otherwise, like I want to see another FQ series where people believe 1 euro = 1 USD.

I read this article last month. EVO magazine always puts that blue fq340 against crazy competition. The issue before this, it was against and rs4. Not suprisingly the evo was faster around the track

ummm no.. Its called preloading, so that the sudden jolt of a launch will not shatter your transmission.
