never mind i dont think its part of the driveshaft its close to the transfercase and its a lil above the driveshaft but i still have both of the pieces on there i think it might be something else, when i pushed the car the noise was there with the clutch out of gear and the engine running its not there it sounds like something popping, i have the car on 4 jackstands about to start it up and put it in first and try to see where the noise is coming not sure how safe this is but i will try it

also not sure if it might be a wheel bearing but its pretty loud

Did you shake the driveshaft up and down? is there play in it? I have no expierence with the rear diff, so I cant help out on that one.

lol yeah i shook the **** out of the driveshaft it wasnt it its definitely the rear when i spin one rear wheel by hand the other should spin in the opposite direction but it really doesnt, and then it skips and does it again

Rear diff, time for a Cusco or Quaife replacement.
