improving 1st gear torque

Is there a way to get the turbo to spool earlier in 1st gear without having to mash the pedal? It seems when I’m in 1st gear I have to push it hard to get it moving, but in 2nd gear and higher, you can feel the torque kick in without having to mash the pedal. Is there a way to improve the pull in 1st gear? Or get the torque to kick in earlier without having to mash the pedal?

in 1st gear you wont get as high as boost. when i was stock i would only boost 14 psi(in 1st) now that i put my mbc on i boost 20 in all gears

when i was stock i would hit 18 Psi in 3rd and i would taper to like 15-16, now with the MBC i spike 20 and hold 18

When you floor it the turbo hits max psi so if you're only doing partial throttle then you're not going to be getting all the power. To feel all the power you need to floor it.

boost is the product of load. 1st gear will have the lowest load and it won't boost as much as 3rd gear. That is the nature of any turbo engine. if you want to build more boost in low gears, try bigger wheels or change the gear ratio.

He's asking about improving first gear torque (likely low end response), but not necessarily boost. If you're askin what mods to do.. try a reflash and a full exhaust. You'll definitely hit boost sooner and improve your powerband.

So you want to be able to accellerate faster in 1st gear without mashing the gas? That's what the gas pedal is for! Just do it. Do it.

you can do whatever, but 1st gear will always have relatively less power due to the low boost. If you can do 25 psi in 1 gear at 3500 rpm you will have tons of torque. but the truth is you can only do like 15 psi because of less load.

for turbo charged car this holds truth:
more boost = more power and more torqe.

Nope! you can't get 20+ psi with the first gear at 3500rpm with 1 st gear.

You are mistaken or may be your guage is reading high.... or you are too heavy so it creates too much load in 1st gear .

you can get 20 psi in first gear at 2500 rpm if your car weights like 6000 lbs.

a little more displacement would help

There are some things you can change, somethings you can't. Turbo lag in first is something you cant do too much about

Nitrous.....

seriously, just mash the pedal, that's what it's there for.
