i have a evo 8 with a ACT clutch and engagement point is good i cant complain, but before that with my stock clutch it had a high engagement point so i guess thats the way they are or you've burnt a lil of your clutch. im not saying your a bad driver so dont get defensive.

put it on stands so the wheels are off the ground. Adjust it so theres about an inch and a half give or take of pedal travel from the floor where the wheels do not spin. Thats how I set mine up, never had an issue.

I noticed that my Evo 9 clutch engaged much higher than any other car I'm used to when I test drove it. Of course the car only had 4 mi on it at that point. I've had the car for 1 day now, and I'm already used to it by now.

my MR has about 600 miles on it.........is there reason why mitsubishi set the clutch engagement point this high? is it just like restrictor in the slave cylinder to protect drive train?
well i guess i have to changeto clutch ss line and take out restrictor and adjust clutch height. just like my previous evo8........

i remeber noticing this too and everybody just said it was me. But more and more people are noticing it now. I think its becasue the nine's dont have the pressure as the eights....If you dont believe me go step on the viii clutch and then a ix you will feel the ix's are very soft and the viii's have resistance.

first time I test drove one I thought something was broken, or the car was in neutral, because I kept letting out on the pedal and the car wasn't moving. I felt like an idiot because I've been driving stick for 20+ yrs and I was like "what's going on?". If you lower the pedal, just make sure it still shifts smooth after.

sorry to hijack but I have a quick question...
I have an aftermarket ACT street clutch and the engagement is high also...an older gentleman I work with says that if it releases as high as it des that means you ride the throw out bearing
is that true?
secondly are ALL ACT aftermarket clutches adjustable. It's the street version but unfortunately I bought the car second hand and do not know the part #
