Goodbye GTP, Hello Evo MR
Pretty soon, im going to sell my 99 Grand Prix GTP and am going to get an Evo MR. This will be the first car i have bought by myself so of course, its gotta be decked out to the max. I will have $6,000 in cash to put into parts and such. I need help cuz I can't decide what to do first. Any help is appreciated.

id recomend paying it off asap and putting all that 6k into the car note but if you must absolutely mod, you can get 350+whp out of exhaust, mbc, intake, tune, fuel pump (2k)
so at the minimum put the 4k into the car price. i wish i had.

Why dump 10K into a depreciating asset? Buy the car with zero down, keep the 16K in the bank, get you some GAP insurance. Spend a little on mods. Keep the rest in there for when you blow your engine and Mitsu voids your warranty.
....and use the search button.
P.S. You've got 16 thousand in disposable cash and your still *talking* about getting an MR. mmmkay

Does Mitsu still have the 0% interest?
i would put it in a high yield CD for a few months and have fun with the car stock, once your bored with the power/handling you will have a few extra $$$ just for being patient. Plus rememeber to keep some in the bank the maintenance costs for the evo are relatively high with new tires every ~15k miles, brake pads, and the clutch which the labor alone will cost as much as the unit it self.
just my 2 cents

Mine usually last 10K, but my buddy, who drive really hard, has disposed of them in 3K miles and 6K miles.
But yeah, listen to Noogles, You DO need money in the bank just for the maintenance.
