I had the same problem turned out to be a socket that had fallen ontop of my starter. take off the starter cover and check it.

I just re-read it, and can't figure out how the plugs changed it. I say its NOT under your car, but a problem inside your ignition itself. where the key goes. wasn't there a Tech. service bulletin on those?? I would take it to the dealership.
