All i can say about Jon @ T.R.E
One hell of a guy and you better have some extra time on your hands cause he loves to talk. I really forgot what he is like... Well today i called him about a few questions i had for him and lets just say the man will teach you about 10 different things in a matter of minutes if you can keep up with him. Just thought that i would share what a good person he is and how hard he works to keep his customers happy.
Thanks, Jon and i will be in touch with ya later this week or the begining of next week.

Well i know about cars/vehicles quite a bit... I work with and on them everyday. This is what i do. But most importantly i dont do transmission work or service. I just flush them and do filter changes where applicable. Well nothing really to pass on but all i can say is he really must love his job. He basically told me everything there is to know abouy synchros, gears, and fluids... I kept trying to just tell him there is no need to go into full detail about things and just tell me what i need to know. But he just kept going 100 M.P.H... LOL.. I kept But i kept my mouth shut and listened "like i should do more often" and i learned a little bit about bead blasting and how it takes part in the tranny, also learned a lot about the different fluids out there on the market. . what one does better over the other and why they all have their pro's and con's. Really it was like transmission 101 and i feel quite refreshed. I mean; i have a good idea of how everything works, i know just about every job each part has inside its just not a area i need to sick my hands. I also have learned some good info about some of the clutch manufactures out there and their pro's and con's.
Somehow we got off topic and were talking about racing, and just being in business for ourselves...And the PRO's & CON's of them too.. lol..The only input i can really give everyone here is: Make sure you pay attention to Jon when you get the chance to talk to him. He is a smart man thay may very well teach you something. So make it worth his and your time. And if you dont really have a important question or dont have a need for his services or parts then just email him and try to let him finish work he is performing for the other EVOM members.

I don't want to get too far into detail and I don't know if Jon even wants me too.. But I will say this:
Redline MT-90: Offers better protection to the gears but can be out performed by BG Synchroshift II on the smoothness of shifting.
BG Synchroshift II: Allows better / smoother shifting but can be outperformed on protection by the Redline MT-90.
All the newer fluids out on the market like Redline and BG are pretty slippery and sometime can cause the synchros rings not to catch the gears when the desired speed for that set is met therefore the synchros not allowing you to shift 100% precise and smooth. Jon stated that this is found in most GL-4 & GL-5 fluids and he also stated that the higher GL rating of fluid that one can find "within the specs that Mitsubishi requests for viscosity and specs" is better. Jon never really stated what fluid is better over the other but he did say that its pretty much a toss up. They both are good.
The BG will help protect the synchros better but the fluid as a whole will not provide better protection on the gears and shafts as the Redline.
As for why: There are reasons and I don't want to go further into detail mainly because I don't know exactly how to put it.
As for clutch manufactures: The only two Jon really pointed out that were high on his list for quality and obviously price were: ACT & RPS. And why... Well I will say that they put more time and money into designing their pressure plates.
Its a touchy subject, and if I took more time to think about our conversation I prolly could come up with a better overall statement but I believe that I summed it up.
I myself is switching to a ACT Clutch this weekend and I have used BG and Redline fluids... I Will state that BG works great and so does redline. The BG has shown me better results but from what I had stated that Redline should protect the main components of the transmission a little better. . . I may just switch them for each other when I do my fluid changes in the TRANSMISSION each time I change my fluid. MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THIS WHOLE POST IS ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID ONLY. NOT THE T-CASE OR REAR DIFF. . . I wish that there was a definite answer or proof that there was a fluid that would satisfy all desires.
I AM IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM STATING THAT JON @ T.R.E IS STATING THAT ONE MANUFACTURE OF ANY THAT I HAVE LISTED IS BETTER OR WORSE THAN THE OTHER. SO LETS PLEASE TAKE THIS INFORMATION AS FOR INPUT USE ONLY AND LETS NOT LET THIS BECOME A PISSING CONTEST.

AMEN to that! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into that post. There is always somebody who will disagree but at least we have another resource for the community from someone who builds the best in the business.
