ehh i got 11K out of mine.. After i had some crap done to it custom tuned and my launch limiter raised i was unable to get my newlaunch down on the first try.. Thats all it took!!!! 1 very bad launch and i glazed her... Drove it for about a month or 2 very easy but its not driveable now.. No better reason for a twin disc!!
No it wasnt my driving, ive owned 3 awd cars now and this was the first clutch i ever replaced
(well saying it wasnt my driving would be silly.. It was, it was my launching)

Unless you drag race all the time, if you need a new clutch in less the 10-20K miles, you need to change your driving technquies.

I had a similar problem. the clutch would either catch high or low. I had to change a part (not sure about the english name - translates to something like clutch center system) that was supposed to align the clutch engagement point. solved my problem

WTF? The guy asks the question
"How many EVO IX owners have clutch issues already?"
And almost all of the responses are from people who have "Evo 8" for the car they drive... so either you haven't updated your profile, forgot what car you drive, or aren't answering this guys question because you drive an 8...

Ummm ok???
The reason the clutch starts slippin is because the flywheel is NOT good a gettin rid of heat and it store the heat, which makes it easy to glaze the clutch and thats why it starts slipping.
If there was really something wrong, people wouldnt make it to 50K mile with 50 launches.

this is the explaination provided by ACTman and clutch masters inc., which is a local shop. exedy sends them their stage 1 pressure plates so they can have the rivvets grinded down.
