The current highway speed limits are plain ridiculous. Places that have increased their speed limit have seen a higher rate of accidents, but guess what; it's women and the elderly that account for most of those accidents. Not trying to generalize but honestly the US needs to institute a mandatory driving school + many hours of driving with an instructor before being eligible to be tested for a license. It's so easy to get a license in the states it's absolutely ridiculous. Compared to other countries in this world, it's like opening up a box of Wheaties and having a license fall out. "Wheaties! Driver's license included in every box!"

nah man just keep readin it. you'll get it. and yea my friend has used it many times and won all the cases. (he said to try to write it on the ticket int he commet box if possible, or jus task the cop if you may do so.). OR you can just write it on your lisence first. but.. make SURE you know what ' without prejudice means' (the judge will ask you if you ever have to use it in a court).

You can try to contact the DA or the assistant before the trial. Most times they will tell you that you will need to plead at the initial court hearing. Plead "not guilty". You will then have a conference with the DA or assistance. You can try to work out a plea or get the ticket dismissed. Traffic school with the ticket dismissed might be a solution even though it sucks because you were not at fault. The pre-trial conference is were you will present your evidence in a brief manner to the DA. The article that was posted may be worth trying at that time. If you know of anyone that is an attorney or has a friend/relative that does, I would recommend forwarding that to them and see what they have to say about it. Multiple perspectives are always best. Make sure that you right down the details now and read through them many times before the final court date. Create a list of questions for the officer. Ask the same question in multiple ways. The best thing that can happen for you is that the officer will change his testimony to match the question. Even if it is slight, the judge should see it and take it into account. Ask the officer what the statue states that he gave you a ticket for. Ask the judge the same thing. If the two do not match up, that is another good thing because the officer gave you a ticket for something he didn't understand verbatim. Find out when the last time the radar was tested, what type of training the officer has had for its use, and how long he has been using it. People make mistakes, lie, etc. Inconsistency or lack of knowledge on the officer's part is part of a good defense. Show the judge you are prepared and are taking this seriously and were not at fault. When you are testifying look at the judge as much as possible especially when explaining that you were not at fault. Eye to eye will get his respect and most judges are fairly good lie detectors. They hear alot of testimony. Dress to impress. Court should be similar to going to a professional interview. Use good mannors. Vary your responses with "Yes/no Judge" or "Yes/no your honor". I am a Microsoft Certified Professional and wore a button up shirt with the logo/title to court. It showed the judge that I was a person of integrity and trust. Best of luck! It really sucks being not guilty and having to prove your innocence. All the times I have been guilty, I have admitted and paid the ticket usually getting a reduced citation. I have not been guilty a few times now and in all cases have fought and had the citations dismissed!!!
