It seems like you took the proper precautions ie: immobilizer, and parking it close to work. I guess it just shows that if the bastards want it bad enough, they will get it.

I dont know all the bad neighborhoods in LI, but another one that comes to mind is parts of Hempstead. A few years ago my bros 94 GSX AWD got stolen and they found the car in Hempstead. Everything that was worth stealing on the inside was stolen, and they drove it to the ground that when we cracked open the motor, the pistons were all melted, the block was shot.

Be weary of these areas when you pass thru

another thing I wanna add is that the EVO is not really a car to be taken to work unless its parked in a secure spot....

I think our cars are meant to be driven on weekends or tracked, and not to be left out of our sight.... just my opinion though, as some people have so much money, its just another car to them...

how is an Evo different from any other car? Sure, some are more wanted than others, but you'd deprive it from being driven over that reason?

Sorry for your loss, man. No matter what precautions you take, professionals will still be able to steal your car if they want it bad enough. Hopefully the criminals will be brought to justice.

One inexpensive theft prevention item I use is a steering wheel lock like this one:

Of course it can be picked or broken by professionals, but the goal is to convince the amateur would-be thief to leave your car alone and move on to the next one. It's a good investment for $20.

Wow that sucks bro, thank god there's insurence. I think you should go find a nice girl and put your head between her breast to calm yourself down.

It is different for its high performance abilities and uniqueness and popularity among young teens and young adults.

I drive my EVO every opportunity I have, but know that when I have to park somewhere that I'm always nearby.

BTW do you own an EVO?

I completly agree with you but some of us can't afford to have 2 cars and 2 insurance payments

at least they found it quick...even though it's demolished.

I really feel for you man.

I know you guys are all talking about theft protection and what not..but..if they
really want your car they'll take it.
Those theft protection only slows them down.

Luckily, I never had any of my cars stolen but one came real close.

I hope you have better luck on your next car.
