Sell AEM EMS and buy a piggyback??

I've had a AEM EMS for 2 months now and I've messed with it a lot and I simply do not have the time to figure out how to tune this thing. I'm still on the stock turbo and have no big plans for the car right now. Is there anything easier to tune as I'm nowhere near a tuner or dyno?

ECUFlash. 90 bucks for the cable. 20 for the logging software. Set up a wideband o2 like the Zeitronix and and you are ready to go....

I'll look into it, I just do not want to regret selling it later on.

I have an IM LM-1 wideband, that will work, right? I just do not like tuning AFRs by using injector pulse width, I'd rather just type the AFR #s in at the load or rpm I want.

The EMS took me roughly 3 months to learn. That's with me messing with it a couple hours every few days. After learning the system it took another 6 months to get my car running at least as smoothly as stock and making the power I wanted to on pump gas. I look back and almost wish that I had gone with a piggyback and stayed a little more conservative with my car, but I wouldn't have had the capabilities to be as "open ended" with my car as I am now. Plus I pretty much needed to get away from the stock MAF because I'm running over 30 psi. I would go with the Xede if you aren't going outragous with your car. It offers better tunability than the stock setup. But definately stay away from the EMS if you don't like living for your car!

I understood the AEM EMS has an autotune feature where you just set the target AFR. I don't have one, and have no idea how it works, but that always sounded great to me.

Have you used this feature? I assumed you can use this to get started, get approximately correct values in your fuel cells, then fine tune after logging for awhile.

I agree that Ecu Flash is the way to go if plan on maxing out at 30 psi.

Depending on the laptop, that's a fair deal if you only paid ~$1300 for your EMS. The UTEC is a very good piggyback, despite what many here think :-)

The UTEC frees you of cold start and cruise throttle tuning, it's OBD2 compliant so you can still see your trouble codes, and will have a speed density or blow-through MAF upgrade soon. I have one and I'm using it in conjunction with a reflash. It has good knock and overboost protection features.

I would keep it. Life works in wierd ways and you may regret later selling it. Never know when a good deal on something like a turbo kit will come up and you want to take your car further then you dreamed.

I have no need for a AVC-R, plus I do not like a lot of things in the interior.
