Thats it!!! SpeedGallery! thats the guy i was speaking with about his car when it began making odd noises. Turned out he had a bolt come loose on his manifold, causing a leak.
My car was parked down away from Dan's car towards "the off ramp" next to the Subaru that got wrecked, a few other sube's, and a silver and graphite gray evo.
Cars were going off track left and right both Sat and Sun. Barfly went off track today during a session in the rain. I spun too, but not bad.
I had one spin out into the dirt at cotton corners. It was my first time ever having a passenger and during the run I was very fast but was making occasional comments about portions of the track or regarding the line a car ahead was taking. The distraction definitely was part of why i came over the hill too hot, hit some dirt on the track, and made the most basic mistake.... lifting my foot off the gas.
... crazy how that damned instinct to let off the gas still gets me.
Sup Andrew,
This is Simon from Lucent Motors, I was there on friday, glad to hear you had fun with your evo, looking forward to see you there next time.

I'm the North American brand manager of Oettinger performance and we're going to deck the car out with both looks and their bigger turbo kit, among other mods.
I'm trying to afford keeping the evo as well though, since tracking your daily driver is just not something you can do without getting eventually burned.
Your Evo looks almost like its about to be on 3 wheels in that second picture. Cool times.
You cannot tell from the third photo but i've got the car into a pretty wicked power slide. hehe.
That corner "off ramp" was notorious for people overshooting the very start of the turn and going off the far side. I saw dirt clouds from that area all weekend long.
One of the corvette guys went into the tires there, cracking his whole quarterpanel in half.

What kind of speed were you hitting in the big straight on saturday?

Ahh... just looked at your site. Beautiful Carrera GT. I know its a car rarely touched by mods, but if you'd like some TechArt parts for it, they're available! (sorry.... i work too much. lol)
If you're at SEMA, come by our booth! We're going to have the TechArt Carrera GT there front and center!
Yes.... this exact same car. Shipped here from Germany.

Yeah. I took a call from you guys today. I don't recall if it was you Simon. He asked for Jonathan so i passed the call his way. He is our main TechArt guy right now.
I'm the Brand Manager for Oettinger and also specialize in TechArt.
Jonathan is a good kid. Great at sales and drives a badass Audi RS4.

I was running around 120 as well in the straights when I didn't get stuck behind anyone in the riverside sweeper entering it. I think i hit 128 on one occasion but to get that fast i ended up braking a little late and it kinda miffed my entry into cotton corners.
Glad you had fun out there. You missed the rain by a day. Kern County has been raining non stop since sunday morning.
The drive through the pass towards LA was brutal. The water was mixing with ash from the huge fires and caused the road to be covered in milk white mud. It was very disorienting.
