Basically, I am putting my job as a loan officer off to the side for now, and going full force with this starting today. I was up late last night with a friend that is a Commercial realitor and we looked through a data base on industrial zoning. I found a butt load of prospects that would be perfect...reasonable too!
I do alot of side jobs for friends locally that need evo parts installed. Basically Frank has taken me in and said what ever you need. So now I am bringing all my tools and equipment to his shop. I made an appointment with a lawyer and CPA to find out what exactly we can do, or how it has to be done.....keep yall posted as it unfolds.

I like the idea alot. I think it's a great one because i have sat down and think about it. Here in NKY everywhere we go we get kicked out by the cops, so if this was an after hour place to hang out that would be awesome. I've always thought about opening up a drag strip or a shop of some sort because i love cars and that's something i will always want to be around. As for the shop i would make it open to ANY car. Not just evo's because there just simply isnt enough evos around to make the shop profitable.

yeah... Not to crap on anyones day.... but we have a shop like this here in El Paso and its only 5.00 an hour. of course its through membership only but to get a membership you have to take a couple of classes. they have 12 bays with lifts... any tool you can dream and the best tech i have ever found. if wanna leave your car over night its 2.50 for a bay and 2.00 for the outside parking lot. but it really is a great idea. I have been going to it for awhile. And they let you do anything there from oil change to full on muscle car restoration........ oh yeah. the prices are so low because the shop is sponsured by either pep boys or checkers i forget which.

The only thing is the need for this. There are only a few jobs that need a big shop with a lift and a certified tech's help on. It would be cool to have a place like this, but the need isn't really there. I just don't think you would have the flow of people coming in to make it worth it.
I guess in my situation, I have a friend whos dad is a mechanic and I do everything over there. So its kinda like this shop idea, but I don't have to pay. Thats why I dont see it as a need for me.
I didn't really read through every post on here, so I don't know if Im going to repeat what someone already said. But the only way I would think this could really work is if its already a shop, that does installs, tunes, sells parts, and this is a side thing that they offer. To just come out and open a business thats a place where all you do is go and install you own parts doesn't seem like it would stay afloat.
I don't know if you have already thought about it like this, but thats how Im seeing it.
But good luck to you, if you get it going that would be awsome. And it would be close to me which would be cool too.
