Comfortable with night runs??? I guess sooooooo and yes I should be running some sticky rubber... that is if i don't wear it out in the next 3 weeks.

Darryl,
Did I tell you I had Robi from ROBISPEC install coilovers, sway bar, laser aligment, corner wieght & fine tune my suspension, it handles incredibly now, even accelerates faster too!

You're right, there are quite a few areas that you have to slow down to 15 mph. I was following a local the last time I was up there and I'd prefer to do it that way again, as they know where the sharp corners are and where you can open it up.
My Goodyear F-1 supercars are almost gone @ 8500 miles, but they sure handle great! So much for a treadware of 280!
So Fontana seems to be the place,eh. I'll give em a call tomorrow morn as reservations is closed at present.

I drive my car on the highway almost daily, plus I have to be able to drive in rain. On our rough roads and S FL. heat a 160 TW would be gone in no time!

Because dragons find us crunchy, and good with ketchup.

Alright, Fontana it is!
I called today and they have 11 rooms left and 3 cottages. I'm renting one of the 3 bdrm units, I might have a fold out couch if someone can't find a place and needs a place to stay. here's the link : http://fontanavillage.com/fontanavillage_maps.html
They said they're filling up fast, something about a Polka convention or something! LOL
Be there, or you wont!

HWY 28 from Fontana is a pretty good drive.

I must have not gone fast enough....didn't get my brakes to fade once. I did a lot of shifting between 2-3 though. Downshift to 2nd in those tight turns.....gotta make some boost to pull yourself up some of the inclines.

My 245-45-17 BF Goodrich G Force took the roads like a champ....although I wasn't driving the car 100%.....probably 60-75% (since my car had to make it back to IL). Not to mention there was some traffic.

When you are comfortable running it during the day.....run the Dragon at night. Whole DIFFERENT ballgame.

I do have to say we have nothing like this in IL and this is worth the 630 mile drive from IL.

Yeah, 2nd & 3rd were the primary gears for the Dragon. We ran the Dragon on Friday so as to avoid all the traffic, but that was in August, there shouldn't be neraly as much this time of the year. The Cherohala Skyway is were you can really open it up, nice long stretches and wide turns, then it tightens back up again, back and forth, definately a lot of fun, maybe even better than the Dragon itself. I'm hoping that my tires will last up there and back and I don't even have 9000 miles on them @ 228.00 a pop! I love traction, but don't want to be replacing tires every 10K, oh well, if you want to play, you gotta pay!

Cherohala Skyway is definitely a good warmup for the Dragon....we stayed in Tellico Plains, TN so we could drive this when we went up to the Dragon.

I was going to try to find a place in Tellico, but I didn't think they had hotels there,LOL! I was wanting to be able to get some race gas, but the only place I know of thets reasonably close is off of N.Shore Dr. & the Pellisipi Parkway. Anyone know of anywhere closer?
Hopefully I'll have my new FMIC & pipes installed and my car re-tuned before I come up. I'm thinking about experimenting with going w/out a muffler, just straight pipe to see how it sounds and if I pick up any HP or TRQ(I'm running a Magnaflow resonator in place of my kat),should be interesting.
