has there been any crash testing results. has the insurance company commisioner gave its blessing to this. insurance will not cover if it gets banged because when the adjuster opens up the back and sees its not the original your $hit out of luck. I also bought one of the jdm bumpers and have not installed it. I am planning on selling it or making it into a table. just buy the apr one. its actually functional and looks good too.

It really is a well built part. The guy who built it for me is very talented and his attention to detail is unbelievable. The fit is perfect. It is all TIG welded and powder coated. He even made custom sockets to accept the OEM license plate lights. I spent a lot of money for the car and the JDM bumper cover so in my opinion this is a good investment.
I do appreciate all the comments.

USA is the only country that i have been to so far that uses crash beams. Spain NO, Italy NO, Sweden NO, India deffinetly not, China NO, and Japan NO. I check cars when i travel. They normally have a very thin piece of metal just to support the bumper. I have a picture somewhere from China of a Evo 7 with the rear bumper off no crash beam and not even the studs or tapped holes to mount one too.

I'm sure the price would lessen with economy of scale --- if you can collect all the interested buyers and estimate how many units you would need, you can start applying savings through volume. I think 200 - 250 shipped would be a profitable price point for an industrious fab shop, and would appear reasonable to most of the evom community.

dont get me wrong it does look nice. but if you add the price of the bar and the rear bumper itself, it's over a 1000 dollars just for looks..........i can use that money for cams lol.

There is no R&D time to prove the abilities of this crashbar, therefore the cost seems a little inflated. Looking at this i could ask a shop to fab that. No offense, but 200-250 is a "decent" (loosely used) price. Let your buddies know.
