break in

quick question

just got my 03 evo back from the dealer after owning it for 2 days, car spent 3 1/2 weeks at dealer. they replaced 2 pistons and rings assembly four bearings in trans under warranty. do i need to break it in for 600 miles or what?

yes you should in order to seat the rings. thats what the break in period is pretty much about. This was why I was so scared to buy used. Good luck and hope you dont have anymore problems.

I wouldnt say you need to baby it for 600miles. Your turbo is used to boosting, your clutch is used to working as is you tranny. I would keep it under 5k for a couple hundred miles boosting every-so-often. Than your good. Good luck!

keep the rpms low and boost often, the cylinder pressure helps seat the piston rings
