Check your local laws about window tint, in some states it has to be above a certain percent...

You would typically spend between 1-2 hundred dollars for tinting the for doors and rear windshield. As for the level of tint, you will have to look at cars and see what you like.

35% is max legal here in ma, i have them on black evo, looks great and keeps the temps down in the summer heat. Im guessing NY laws are similar, both our states have somewhat conservative auto laws. As far as price is concerned you should have to spend +/- $180.

yeh i looked it up and seems like its the same. 35% max light throughput, and 21% max reflectivity.

i just dont have a conception on how dark that is. is there a picture thread of tints floating around anywhere?

They should have some window pieces at the shop with different tint levels that you can look through and compare, find something that's right for you. Beware that if you go too dark then it can be difficult to see through at night. Both of my cars have pretty dark tint and when I'm backing up at night sometimes it's hard to see out the back.

Mine cost me about $240 for 15% all around....although I think it's a tad bit too dark. I think somewhere around 25-35 would be ideal.

I have 15% on the rear window and the rear passenger windows. I have 50% on the front windows, which is illegal in CA. But it gets really hot in the Central Valley during the summer so it's worth the risk of a fix-it ticket. Half the cars in Fresno have illegal tint so I'm not too worried about it. As to cost, I paid about $200 total.

I have 20% and I like it. Make sure you get either 3M or Lumar tint put on.
