i hate to say it, but i think that some of the Evos without the wing look like an accord (or something of that nature). like the black one for example. yes its nice, but to me, the wing makes part of the car much more aggressive. the Sti can pull it off, but Evos cant.

I love all the free psychoanalysis people give for liking the car one way or the other.
To me having a big audacious wing is part of what makes the Evo. Surely its performance comes first, but the car's aggressive/excessive/outlandish - whatever adjective you want to hang on it - appearance is part of what makes the Evo an Evo. I love that about the car.
Saying that you'll never use the downforce the wing provides on the street as a reason to take it off is hypocritical because you won't be able to use any of the Evo's extended capabilities on the street, legally or safely.
RS's come that way because they are designed to give the owners/racing teams that buy them, a clean slate to build on and add a wing suitable for the competition they compete in - not because the car "really doesn't need the wing"
Bottom line is, with or without its still an Evo. Just that the wing was meant to be there to complete the car, other wise we'd be talking about winged Evos instead of wingless ones.

The wing is functional and it serves a purpose. U dont want the wing fine, not a big deal. But on the track it provides a function , in all races F1 cars or regular track cars- u can see they have wings. It provides downforce, and it might be a few multi-seconds but its alot on the track. Also for high speeds, more down force - a few multiseconds to reach the redline faster and change gears faster = faster car and more top speed.

On the track, wing is on. Off the track, id have it off. Why? Cause i dont want some stupid *** kids doing something to the car, or attracting attention from the cops when i dont need it.
