Are the MR 6spd Evos having the top gear grind issues that the GSR 5-spds are having?

Also, there is the "EVO shift", which you need to develope.
I've owner a VIII and IX. On my VIII, did every mod I could to make shifting better (ss, bushing, new oil, removed restrictor, adjust pedal, etc.. Non of it worked. Then I just started driving better. When I got the IX all I did was a SS and shifting is perfect.
You just have to develop you "EVO shift", which is different from any "honda shift", "DSM shift" or "front wheel dirve shift".

My 5th/6th gear had to be replaced due to 5th gear grind. I was thinking that a syncro had gone bad because with no warning I could not engage 6th gear. Mitsu had a factory man fly out to the dealer**** because there were a handful of others with the same 5/6th gear failure. The 6th gear was fine, but due to the distortion of #5, the top gear could not be engaged. Both gears had to be replaced because they are one piece.

I can't believe the response to this thread. Are Mitsu trannies THAT bad???
I had fourth gear seize on my '03 Z06, and when I posted it on Corvetteforum.com, I had about 500 people respond over a month, and only ONE person had HEARD of something like that.
It seems that MOST (seriously...more than 50%) people I've talked to either online or in person have had minor synchro problems, or total failure with both transmissions offered in the Evo.

Not so much bad, the 6-Speed isn't even built by mitsu much like the famous T-56 in the Cobra/Viper/Vette. With all those cars having massive torque and the benefit of wheelspin to vent off much of the shock to teh Drivetrain. Even the latest Z06 will suffer from a rear end issue with slicks and a dump. Now take a 3200 pound car and then launch it with 0 wheelspin, the tramma on teh trive train has to be affecting somthing. Also understand that a lot of idiots/inexperienced people have Evo's and do not know how to drive them.
Then I say look at dae Buschur, has a 2003 with a stock tranny/ T/C case and is running extremely fast times, all that car is is teh shops Bitch to launches and races. The Evo has only been here for 3 years, people are unfamiliar with them. The vette has what, 50 years head start?
