Heater core going out?Help.
the heater quit blowing hot air, monday morning, the fluid levels are fine, i replaced the thermostat, the car engine warms up just fine, the lines that run into the firewall are warm but i don't know how much pressure i should be able to push down on them to check, i can almost squeeze the sides together while the heater is running, ran the car with the cap off, then had it parked up on a hill so the core would be downhill from the engine, theres no water or any fluid on the passenger floor so no leaks anywhere, i checked. car has 77000 miles on it. does anybody know for sure where the heater core is, looks like its behind the radio.
anybody else got any ideas thanks.

I doubt it is the core itself. It is probably something like the valve not opening to let coolant, or enough coolant, pass thru the core. If you turn on the heater (temp to hot) the heater hoses should be as hot as the radiator hoses. This should be more than warm to the touch by my temp scale.
What was the temp rating of the new tstat you installed?

the new thermostat was 90c and the one i pulled out of the car was 80c, and the hoses are hot the ones that run into the cabin.

i know what your problem is bro. I had the same freakin problem.
QQ? was it hard for u at some point to turn your climate control?
if yes, you stripped the pulling mechanism thats underneath the driver side.
fix:
pull the driver seat back, get down and pullout the bottom steering cover should be two bolts. not neccessary to take it all the way out, let it hang.
get a flash light and locate the the white plastic lever you cant miss it. it should have a wire thats connected to it that pushes and pulls when ever you turn your climate control.
turn your climate control and keep an eye on the lever underneath to see if it moves as you turn the nob. turn the nob all the way to cold and the wire should pull or push the lever accordingly. now turn it the other way (hot side), if you dont see the lever move the other direction accordingly you found your problem. go get a long screwdriver and push it all the way back to hot position. turn fans on to high make sure car is up to temp. if you feel heater is working great! but if not you got a problem. let me know if this helped u out at all good luck.
