Little help, please?
My bf has an evo, and i was hoping to buy something for him, soon. But im not quite sure what he would like or what would be something useful. Its an 2005 MR, and its still stock. So do you guys have any idea what would be something good to purchase for him?
edit: my price range is around $250-350 possibly more depending on what i find.

That's a hard question. If he's really particular about performance mods, you might get yourself into trouble. On the other hand, if you go with interior/visual mod, then you'll have to know what his taste is. Maybe a new guage cluster? Stereo? Shift knob?
P.S. You are a rockin gf.

sign him up for a track day.... that can be in the 150-300 dollar range. you most certainly will be getting him something that will put a HUGE smile on his face, and as an added bonus you don't have to worry about getting him something he doesn't need/want.

has a cool book "Modifying Your Mitsubishi Powered DSM/EVO's 4G63" that would be nice plus a titanium shift knob for about $100. Or a http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AWD-T...mZ130034792816 shows you care about the car and if it ever has to get a tow ,that sticker will protect his transmission.
Flash might not be the best route since you need to have mods in order to have the full potential for power.

because you're a really cool gf, i'm going to be useful here.
performance mods are going to be a little iffy cos you don't want to get things that will be a pita to install. Not saying he can't install them, but chances are if it's stock, he's probably not into taking the thing apart every weekend. The cheapest Megan is something like $380 and then there's a possibilty that he doesn't like it loud. Besides, you don't want to get something that will cost him more to install. On that note, a flash would be the best thing, but you'll have to get him to part with his ecu for a while which might spoil the surprise.
pads are a no-no also cos if they start squealing, we might even get to hear about them on evom as well. having said that the DS2500's are a safe bet at around about $300 for the front and rears and are highly unlikely to make any noise while being far better than stock. This way, he will save on pads also so he gets an increased performance while actually saving some money.
or you could go for HKS DLI II's (over budget) or for a little less get a Buddy Club Condenser. Shouldn't be too hard to install and works for a lot of people.
K&N drop in is about $65 and cleaning kit for $10 can't go wrong but a little cheap. DO NOT GET THE TYPHOON KIT. I suppoer you can add some ss brake lines to this (Goodridge or similar) plus a bottle or two of brake fluid to round things off.
That's all I can think of for now. I'm not into exterior mods and I'm not into gauges so can't help there. Anyway good luck. I'm sure whatever you get, he'll appreciate it.
