Any of you guys using TORCO?

I'm learning more about the EVO platform and I notice alot of guys running C16/race gas either mixed or straight which of course eventually leads to lazy then dead 02 sensors. I know some people are able to access 104 unleaded, but does anyone mix their own? I use the TORCO race fuel concentrate and mix with 93 octane, and it's unleaded, which for me is the biggest thing. I use it when I'm wanting to be aggressive with my timing while spraying my stang, so I thought I'd see if anyone on here was using it with success.
5gal. 93+1can concentrate= 107 avg. octane
10gal.93+" " = 103-104 octane
20gal. 93+" "= 97-98 octane
I and a number of others have had good success with it and was I guess a bit surprised I didn't see more about it.
BTW- I don't sell this stuff or have any financial interest whatsoever.

I've used Torco in the past, many GN, Mustang, Vette guys use it. The problem is it enough for a security blanket or a couple of extra lbs. to run any serious boost you need Meth. or C16.

I run Xylene as octane booster.

1 Gal Xylene to a full tank of 93 will yield 94.7

2 Gal Xylene to a full tank of 93 will yield 96.4

3 Gal Xylene to a full tank of 93 will yield 98.1

my car was tuned in the summer, so normally i will add a gal of xylene whenever i get gas during the winter just to make sure i dont detonate with the winter cold air.

I just brought a case of that i was going to put it to the test on the dyno at pruven to see how it does. they said 1 can to 5gal 93oct. makes like 107octane.

I've been meaning to use it, but I'm still skeptical in only using one can of torco to my 10 gallons of 93 octane and knowing if it really works or not as I don't want to blow up my motor.

I don't blame your skepticism. I was as well even after seeing others use it with success. I called though and talked to tech. support to talk about the base of the product and how it bonded/mixed and they seemed to really know their crap. For me it's used as not only a safety net bus also a large aspect to increased performance as I can run a good bit more timing with it.

Do the Evo's not have knock sensors that pull timing if knock is sensed? Or if it gets to that point are you already hosed?

I was curious about this additive too.

About your question. Yes the Evo as a knock sensor. When too many knock counts occur the ecu will pull timing. If the knocking occurs over a lengthy period it will switch to a different (low octane) timing map.

i have used torco. pretty awsome product. i could spike 25-25psi without even 1 knockcount and the car would run much smoother...

Currently i am using Klotz Hitrate, a similar product which in a mic 9 gallons of 92 octane and 1 gallon of hitrate you get 103-105 octane leaded gas... Again allows for at least 2-3psi more boost without knocking....
