I noticed that i was low on coolant today...can I add prestone to the factory coolant fluid?...I heard mixing different types is bad and i really dont need a flush since i have only 5k on my car.

Adding more coolant will void your warrantee.

I'm sorry, I was playing. I was making reference to the fact Mitsu voids warrantees at the drop of a hat.

You can add more coolant, just make it 50/50 or depending on your weather conditions more anti to water.

Prestone makes a 50/50 coolant.

Just fill it with that.

Why people pay more for coolant that just has water added to it already boggles the hell out of me. Why not get the regular one and mix it at home?

For one... It's less of a pain. So what, pay a couple of dollars more for pre-made stuff? Big deal.

Secondly - you would want to mix it will distilled water. Regular tap water is not de-ionized and could cause rust over time.
