I'm about to buy a wideband and do the same.
I believe you will be hooking up the LC-1's cable to your laptop. Hook up the tactrix cable and open up evoscan.

There is an option to use a certain wideband. Select that and the com port that your wideband signal is coming in off of.

Connect the LC1's serial cable to your PC.. directly it should work fine.

If you're forced to use a USB-Serial adapter.. get one from Radioshack that has the buldge in the cable + a Driver disk.. these seem to work fine.

Don't get a cheap adapter. It probably won't work.

I have 6 or 7 USB-Serial adapters laying around.
None of them work. I think I literally bought every one that radio shack has.

Use this one. It is the only one I found that consistently works without error.

Now, if your laptop has a serial built in, you're golden. .

<resurrect thread>

From what I gather, does EvoScan allow you to view/log data simultaneously from Tactrix cable and also from LC-1 serial cable? So you could effectively log AFR and anything else from Tactrix cable together?

Is EvoScan the only program capable of doing this?

1. from what I understand, yes you can log AFR, along with other's at the same time. You will need the plugins, that go into the laptop, but you know this.

Evo scan is not the only one, just one of the more common ones. HTH

OK, so I can connect serial cable from LC-1 and USB cable from Tactrix to laptop and use EvoScan to pull data from both sources to same log?

I'll probably buy EvoScan, unless someone can convince me it's not worth $25 ???

I think its worth it, but hey.. Some one wont. Money well spent if you ask me.

Cool, thanks.

<offtopic> How's your Gruppe-S flywheel? How many miles on it? I spoke to another member who had it install and ended up blowing his motor... he's not sure if it's flywheel related. </offtopic>
