You know, WarrTalon may seem like a douche but hes actully right. You dont need an intake at all. The only time you need an intake is when you upgrade the turbo, because most wont work with the stocker.

Anyways, if you have money and want mod for your EVO, this should be your shopping list

1 - A quality Trubo Back Exhaust (TBE), I recommend Burschur or WORKS

2 - A quality custom tune, you can go to Dynoflash, AMS, Jestr, WORKS, Vishnu, etc.

3 - MBC (manual boost controller)

4 - Walbro fuel pump

Take small steps and learn your car.

What Evo_Kid, Warrtalon and others have tried
to tell you is the truth about your modification path.

If you want to go for huge horsepower later ...
Larger Turbo, speed density GM MAF, stand alone,
than you can easily use an air intake.

OMG please lock this thread...... This is the thread that never ends and only promises to take brain cells for all that read....

So much can be accomplished by using the search function but so many are ignorant to its use. It almost feel like talking to a child.

What you were failing to realize (and apparently still fail to realize) is that going back to stock _WAS_ the very first troubleshooting step towards figuring this out. You always remove the variable first when troubleshooting, and in this case, the variable was the intake itself...
