Stewart Warner Performance Gauges
Alright i have an 06 evo ix mr... just got stewart warner boost gauge (25psi) with a steering mount column...
since the ix mr comes with stock boost gauges (bars) i had to connect my new gauge with a Tee! When i run the car my stock boost gauge (bars) reads 1.3 (18or19 psi) and on my stewart gauge it reads 14 psi ... i wondering is my new gauge reading wrong... or is it something wrong with the Tee connectiong ... should i try just the new gauge on (not using the Tee or the stock boost gauge) ...
has anyone else had trouble with this!? anyone with MRs that have these gauges... plz let me know how you installed it!
please post
thanks

I installed a SW boost gauge recently too. Mine spikes at 18-19 and levels off to about 16. So yea...I think there is either something wrong with your gauge or with the connections.

I have an autometer boost guage and I used the power and vaccum from the factory boost gauge. I zip tied all the connections and it has been dead on with the factory gauge now for 4 months.
Make sure the line going into your gauge isn't crimped a bit. I have mine column mounted and had it pushed all the way back to the dash. It made the angle of the boost line a little to severe so I moved it out an 1" or so and it is fine.

i dont like the vaccum lines that comes with the gauge install kit... its not rubber! its like hard plastic... i might just go ahead and by a rubber kit with nipples that fit in the gauge...

I didn't like the nylon at first blush either. And if you use their Tee, you don't need to zip tie the nylon tubing's connection, but I did zip tie the connections of the tube I spliced into. It's on so tight (once you work it all the way down) that you have to cut a slit in it to get it off the tee (which I think the directions actually mention).
I did have a leak at the push in connector that is supplied with the kit. You need to push a good bit of tube into it, then pull out on it so that seals. If you're getting enough into the connector and setting it right, then take the tubing back out of the connector: you'll see marks where the connector dug into the tubing.

Im beginning to think there might be something wrong with my SW boost gauge as well. The highest boost I can get is about 18.5 and levels off to 16 and I have a Eflash from jester tuning. I asked john at jestr about it and he suggested I should remove the restrictor pill. But aren't stock boost levels supposed to be at 20 psi??
