Yea, It's more of like a safety thing. Just makes sure there is enough fuel getting to the engine.

It isn't as much a running out of fuel thing as it is running your pump too hard and having it crap out on you. You want some headroom. It is pretty cheap and easy to swap.

Out of Gas

I just had a Walbro installed since the pump couldn't keep up with the boost during my last dyno runs.

I had DTM Motorsport (Dulles, VA) install a new FMIC and intake pipe and then tune the car for me (I had just installed a TurboXS TBE myself). During the tune, and pushing the car up to 23psi, the tuner, Nick, ran into a wall and 100 percent duty cycle for the stock injectors. As a result Nick ended backing off of the boost to 22psi until he could get the new fuel pump installed.

Once the new pump was installed, later that night, the boost went back up to 23 psi and the injectors are now putting out 85 percent duty cycle. I now have 294.4whp/305.0lb-ft but want more. Next comes the cams and a head port/polish and hopefully about 340+ on both. Alky is always a possibility, but I'll see if I can get up to the 340 range without it.

So, in all honesty...get the fuel pump. You'll need it before you know it.

If you're asking about it, spend the $100 for the added safety.

It's definitely money well spent, and cheap insurance.

as stated abow..change the pump. You also get rid of the dreaded fuel cut when you boost more.Change the fuel pressure regulator and fuel rail to.If you want more than 360Hp change the injectors aswell.Best operating percentage for the injectors shouldn't be more than 80% of max flow capacity.

But this also depends on what fuel you are running..Here in Norway we have Shell V-power 99 octane pump gas.. Heard that Statoil is comming out with a 103 octane pump gas..looking forward to that..
