'06 IX gsr vs '06 MR aftermarket parts

This is my first post here. Ive been lurking around learning about these evo's for a lil time now. As of tomorrow my G35 coupe will be sold and im on a mission to get an evo.
Ive decided to get an evo IX because of how it responds to mods when compared to the VIII. But my question is: Does the MR and GSR version share the same aftermarket parts such as pipes, ecu's, suspenion comps. ect. Im leaning towards the MR as of right now,but i want to be sure there are many options (companies) for aftermarket parts, because i do plan to mod. Thanks guys.

I think the only differences would be suspension parts (just springs) and short throw shifters. I think everything else is the same.

Don't spend money on the MR if you plan on swapping out the stock suspension for coil-overs.

Not a good suggestion. The Bilstein shocks aren't the only major difference on an MR. Plus, the Bilsteins can be sold to recoup their "cost" in the price of the MR.

Do all of the Downpipes for the IX GSR fit for the MR? Clearing both ACD and 6-Speed.

Not all do. Sometimes you have to buy a different support beam, or just space it about 1-2 cm.

Yes, the 6-speed is the same size as the 5-speed.

actually, the 6-speed is slightly larger in dimensions and heavier than the 5-speed, but it bolts to the engine in the same location and doesn't reposition the transfer case any which is what would cause clearance issues for a downpipe. 6-speed or 5-speed doesn't matter for a downpipe since the downpipe isn't near the tranny, all you need to worry about is if it's made for ACD equipped(05+) or non-ACD(03-04) cars.
