Burned Metallic Foil Underneath hood.

Hey guys I have an '03 that just passed 30,000 miles and I noticed something the last time I opened up the hood. The metallic foil-like lining underneath the hood was slightly burned in the area where it meets the intercooler piping when the hood is closed. This kind of got me worrying a little bit. Has anyone else noticed this on their Evo's?, What could have caused the underlining to burn like that? Thanks!

Same thing happened on mine...it was right after i removed the louvered grill piece. It leaves part of the foil unprotected.

I removed my grill piece and no problems.. mine is still normal. Possible high egt's giving off a lot of heat who knows.
