Do Subaru owners deserve another shot?

Mr. Dave Buschur is try to garner more support from the Subaru crowd for another EVO vs. WRX/STi/STI event in 2007 and honestly I'm starting to see the same troubling trend. A trend of a lot of talk, and not a lot of showing. I for one was very disappointed (as always with Subarus, but more so this time) by the last Buschur Sponsored EVO vs. WRX event. I mean the Subaru owners talked so much crap and once again proved nothing, other than that they can talk a lot of crap. But this last showing really upset me, because it kind of hurt Mr. Buschur in the pocket, meaning I do not believe the last event was a financial success. I for one am tired of the many excuses by the Subaru crowd and in my opinion would love to see the EVO community move on from the Subarus. I know the Subarus are our heated rivals, but most of the rivalry is false, it's clear that the evo is just a better car to tune and make power from, and the Subaru guys may think differently, but they've had three years to prove this and have not proven anything other than if you throw enough money at a car it will go fast. Sorry but if Big Valley threw the same amount of money into an EVO it'd be faster. I hope I am not potentialy ruining this event for Mr. Buschur, but since he has not really posted a lot of info about the event on the EVO forum, I figure it is still in it's planning stages. There are other vehicles just itching for a sponsored competition with EVOs, such as the SRT-4 and I can almost guarrantee a huge showing by SRT-4 owners wanting to take on EVOs. Would SRT-4s be more competitive, probably not, but it would be fun . These are just my opinions, what do you guys think? Are you ready for another round with the Subaru community or should EVOs just move on?

I like the shootouts, but like you said, it seems as if the Subie guys (not all of you) really appreciate what he's trying to put on for us. I've personnaly never been to one, and hopefully when I get back to the mainland the event will still be going on.

The fact that Subies are our biggest rivals is why this even needs to continue... it gives a venue for everyone talking **** to each other to step up to the plate and deliver. Maybe if we brought in the SRT's and maybe some others (make it like Mitsu vs all comers or something) the turnout and competition would be much more heated.

Skittles really aren't the greatest Drag Cars, If we did a 4g63 Vs LSX shootout i think it wouls be a huge success for Dave. We would most likely lose* but it wouls still be fun

* For every 8 sec evo there are (100) 8 sec lSX's and for every 9 sec evo there are way to many LS1's not to mention several 6-7 sec LSX's

Supra's?

Oh, no wait. The Evo team will probably loose that one. Nevermind.

I think the whole shootout thing is kind of dumb.

I think doing a evo vs. wrx/sti vs srt-4 shootout would be an awesome idea, and there would probably be a lot more turnout . A domestic vs. import shootout would be cool too.

What does it matter if the cars aren't in production? Plenty of cars have meets that are not around. Muscle cars, Grand Nationals, Supras, LS1 powered F-bodies etc, etc. People's appreciation much less the cars themselves don't evaporate when they factory stops building them.

Inviting the SRT-4's is a good idea. Ask the Cobalt SS people too.

Bah, drag racing is lame. We should do a road racing/autoX shootout instead =)
